This article provides a brief overview of the benefits of delayed cord clamping compared to early clamping after birth. Introduction: The optimal timing of cord clamping has long been a controversial issue. Recently, many studies have shown that delayed cord clamping results in a significant reduction in morbidity risks such as intraventricular hemorrhage, necrotizing enterocolitis, hypoperfusion, transfusion requirements, and optimal hemoglobin hematocrit levels in preterm infants. Conclusion: Delayed cord clamping will ensure more positive outcomes in preterm infants.
