The endotracheal tube is an indispensable part of neonatal resuscitation. Due to the very short tracheal length and other anatomical limitations, the accurate placement of an endotracheal tube (ETT) in a newborn has always been a difficult task. Despite various advances in neonatology, many intubations are still incorrectly placed. Incorrectly placed ETTs lead to complications more frequently. These complications can become irreversible quite early, especially in premature babies. In this article, we would like to explain several methods that help in determining the exact placement of an ETT in newborns.
